Deborah Banks BAppSocSci(Couns), M.A.C.A. (Level 4) is a trauma informed counsellor and psychotherapist with over seven years experience post qualification.

Prior to opening her first private practice five years ago, Deborah was the CEO and counsellor at Lou's Place, a daytime refuge for women in Kings Cross. Deborah was a council member of the Corrective Services NSW Women's Advisory Council and has held positions on the boards of Domestic Violence NSW and the Mental Health Coordinating Council.    

Deborah is a domestic violence specialist, mental health practitioner and registered NDIS provider. She draws on a range of theoretical approaches to meet you at your point of need including: 

  • couples counselling (Gottman Method and Imago Theory)

  • individual therapy

  • relationship issues

  • ​anxiety and depression

  • trauma recovery (three phase trauma model)
